Be part of NCC (National Cadet Corps), India’s first youth organization, to make your future bold and successful.

Moto:

“UNITY AND DISCPLINE”

National Cadets Corps, the first youth organization of India was formed after the NCC act passed by the Parliament of India in 1948. Every last Sunday of November is considered as NCC day. There are four divisions, JD (Junior Division), JW (Junior Wing), SD (Senior Division) and SW (Senior Wing) of NCC. Cadets up to class tenth are grouped as JD, for boys and JW, for girls. Students of twelfth and degree classes are part of SD and SW.

There are three wings of NCC - Army, Air Force and Naval. NCC girls division was established in the year 1949, Air wing in 1950 and Naval Wing in 1952.

NCC is a huge organization it is distributed as:

National Cadet Corps aims at making each and every cadet a perfect citizen. It is a youth organization which provides self growth to the cadets as well as provides service to the society. NCC provides the cadets a sense of nationalism and secular outlook so that it contributes towards the inculcation of a sprit of national integration among the cadets. It organizes many types of camps for the cadet’s training. In centrally organized camps, cadets from different states are brought together and made to stay and work together with a view to provide the sprit of unity in diversity. Besides giving thrill and excitement each cadets are able to know the survived culture of each state through the folk dances, group songs, orchestra and the national integration awareness presentation of each state. This makes each cadet to know the diversity of Indian culture and the long heritage of India.

International camps like YEP (Youth Exchange Programs) makes the selected groups of cadets to know about other countries by visiting those places.

NCC provides an opportunity for the cadets to know about an Army personal’s life style and discipline. Each camps of NCC are conducted as similar to an army training camp. Discipline is a must for each cadet and the cadets should follow the camp rules and instructions of their seniors and officers. In common camps the Cadets are thought about the discipline and cleanness to be maintained by them. Here each cadet learns to share and struggle.

The daily drill and games makes a cadet fit to face any physical challenge. The class conducted allows the cadets know about the various weapons, signal, ranks, etc used by the armed forces of India. These classes make a cadet proud of their nation and create respect for his country and flag in his or her mind. These classes also prepare the cadets to attend the certificate exams conducted by NCC.

NCC develops the following in you:

ü  Comradeship

ü  Courage and character

ü  Discipline

ü  Co-operative mind

ü  Honesty

ü  Service mind

It could be well noticed that NCC has played a vital role in encouraging youth to join Indian Armed Forces. For Army recruitments NCC cadets have more preference, especially the certificate holders. The ‘C’ certificate holders are remitted form the written examination of recruitment.

NCC has been serving the nation for the past 60 years. And it shall serve the nation in future too. NCC has made each and every cadet to think in a different way, and has laid foundation in hearts and minds of young men and women that- its there duty to change the society and play a purposeful role in its transmission.  Now it is the responsibility of the next generation to join NCC and serve nation.

Do you have it in you- to change?
